Curly retriever mixes
Labradoodles are dogs bred from a Labrador retriever and a poodle, combining the friendly temperament of Labs with the hypoallergenic coat of poodles.
First bred in Australia in the 1980s as guide dogs for people with allergies, they became wildly popular as family pets.
The name follows the pattern of other designer dog breeds like goldendoodles and cockapoos.
We got a labradoodle because my daughter is allergic to most dogs.
