kith
Friends and neighbors
Kith means friends and acquaintances, as distinct from family.
The word survives almost exclusively in the phrase kith and kin, meaning friends and relatives—or more loosely, all the people one knows and is connected to.
Outside this set phrase, kith sounds archaic.
