kinging
Reaching the back
Kinging is the act of promoting a checker piece to king status by reaching the opponent's back row, after which it can move in both directions.
The term extends to chess when a pawn is promoted, though queening is more common there.
Figuratively, kinging suggests elevating someone to a position of power or treating them royally: They've been kinging him ever since he won.
