jaegers
Kleptoparasitic seabirds harassing
Jaegers are seabirds known for their aggressive hunting style, chasing other birds to steal their food.
The name comes from German for "hunter." In American English, these birds are called jaegers; in British English, they're skuas.
Three species breed in Arctic regions: parasitic, pomarine, and long-tailed jaegers.
We spotted a jaeger harassing a tern until it dropped its fish.
