Cronos
Child-devouring deity
Cronos is the Greek Titan who ruled before the Olympian gods.
He castrated his father Uranus and later swallowed his own children to prevent them from overthrowing him—a fate he couldn't escape when Zeus survived and dethroned him.
The name is often confused with Chronos, the personification of time, though they were originally distinct figures.
Saturn is the Roman equivalent of Cronos.
