kittiwakes
Arctic Ocean gulls
Kittiwakes are small seabirds of the gull family, named for their distinctive call.
They nest on steep coastal cliffs in large, noisy colonies and spend most of their lives at sea.
Unlike most gulls, kittiwakes rarely scavenge inland.
The cliffs were white with nesting kittiwakes.
