ideomotor
Mind moves body
Ideomotor describes movements that occur unconsciously in response to an idea or mental image rather than deliberate intention.
The term appears most often in ideomotor effect or ideomotor response—the phenomenon behind Ouija boards, dowsing rods, and pendulum divination, where participants believe external forces move objects they're actually moving themselves through imperceptible muscle activity.
