ice burn
Frozen skin damage
Ice burn is skin damage caused by prolonged contact with extreme cold—ice packs, frozen metal, or cryogenic substances.
The injury resembles a heat burn, with redness, blistering, and tissue damage: I got an ice burn from holding the ice pack directly on my knee.
Also used for the stinging sensation of eating something very cold too fast.
