posthumanism
Philosophy transcending species-centrism
Posthumanism is a philosophical framework that challenges traditional assumptions about human nature and human centrality.
It questions boundaries between humans and other entities—animals, machines, ecosystems—and examines how technology, biology, and environment reshape what it means to be human.
Posthumanism asks whether consciousness could exist in non-biological forms.
The term also describes cultural movements imagining futures where humanity has evolved or merged with technology.
Related to but distinct from transhumanism, which focuses specifically on enhancing human capabilities.
