homogeniser

Makes mixtures consistent

A homogeniser is a machine that breaks down particles in a liquid to create a uniform consistency.

Most commonly used in dairy processing, where it forces milk through fine apertures under high pressure, dispersing fat globules so cream doesn't separate: The milk passes through the homogeniser before bottling.

Also spelled homogenizer.
