headspace
Room to think
Headspace is the mental or emotional state a person is in at a given moment, often with implications about their capacity to handle situations or think clearly.
Someone in a good headspace feels mentally prepared and balanced, while a bad headspace suggests anxiety, distraction, or emotional turmoil.
The term also has technical meanings: in firearms, it's the distance between the bolt face and the chamber; in food preservation, it's the air gap left at the top of a jar or container.
