hay fork

Barn tine tool

A hay fork is a long-handled tool with two or three widely spaced tines, used to lift and pitch loose hay.

Unlike a pitchfork designed for manure or compost, a hay fork has tines spaced to grab large clumps of hay without letting it slip through: He hoisted the hay into the loft with a hay fork.
