hayrick

Stored fodder pile

A hayrick is a large stack of hay, typically built outdoors and shaped to shed rain.

The term is more common in British English, where rick alone can mean any agricultural stack.

American English generally prefers haystack.

The old hayrick stood at the edge of the field.
