guard station

Watchman's assigned position

A guard station is a designated post where security personnel are positioned to monitor access, watch for threats, or control entry to a facility.

The term applies to both the physical structure—a booth, desk, or checkpoint—and the assigned position itself: Report to the guard station before entering the building.
