grow up
Become an adult
To grow up is to mature from childhood to adulthood: I grew up in Ohio.
The phrase also means to act more mature, often as a command: Oh, grow up!
A grown-up is an adult, especially from a child's perspective.
Something that grows up around a place develops there gradually: A whole industry grew up around the technology.
