grown-up

No longer juvenile

A grown-up is an adult, typically from a child's perspective: Ask a grown-up for help.

As an adjective, grown-up describes mature behavior or things appropriate for adults: a grown-up conversation, very grown-up of you to apologize.

The hyphen distinguishes it from grown up, the past participle of grow up: She's grown up so fast.
