grandee
Spanish high noble
A grandee is a person of high rank or eminence.
The term originally designated Spanish and Portuguese nobles of the highest class, but now applies more broadly to any powerful or influential figure: media grandees, party grandees.
The word often carries a whiff of irony, suggesting someone who acts with aristocratic self-importance.
