giant redwood

Towering California tree

Giant redwood refers to either of two massive conifer species native to California: the coast redwood, the world's tallest tree, and the giant sequoia, the largest by volume.

Both can live over two thousand years and reach heights exceeding 300 feet.

We drove through the giant redwoods on our way up the coast.
