gentleman's club
Members-only social venue
A gentleman's club has two distinct meanings.
The older sense is an exclusive private club for men of high social standing, offering dining, lounging, and networking in elegant surroundings—institutions like London's Reform Club or Garrick Club.
The newer sense is a euphemism for a strip club, typically one marketing itself as upscale: He claimed the charge on his card was from a "gentleman's club".
