gay-shaming

Mocking someone's sexuality

Gay-shaming is criticizing, mocking, or stigmatizing someone for being gay or for behavior perceived as gay.

It can target actual gay people or be used as an insult against anyone: He got gay-shamed in the locker room for his pink backpack.

The term follows the pattern of slut-shaming and fat-shaming—calling out a specific form of social punishment.
