gatefolds
Records' opening panels
Gatefolds are pages in a book, magazine, or album cover that fold outward from the center, opening like a gate to reveal a larger spread.
In vinyl records, a gatefold album has a double cover that unfolds to display additional artwork, lyrics, or photographs.
Magazine gatefolds often contain advertisements or centerfold images designed to make a visual impact.
The band's debut came in a gatefold sleeve with extensive liner notes.
