function keys
Top row buttons
Function keys are the row of keys along the top of a computer keyboard, labeled F1 through F12.
Their purpose varies by program—F1 typically opens help, F5 often refreshes a page.
They originated when software had no graphical interface and users needed keyboard shortcuts for common commands.
Press F2 to rename the file.
