shift key
Makes letters capitals
The shift key is a modifier key on a keyboard that, when held while typing, produces uppercase letters or the alternate characters printed on number and symbol keys.
On computers, shift combines with other keys for shortcuts: shift-click, shift-tab.
The name comes from typewriters, where the key physically shifted the mechanism to strike a different set of characters.
