frontlit
Lit from front
Frontlit describes something illuminated from the front, with light falling on the surface facing the viewer.
The term appears most often in discussions of e-readers and display technology: a frontlit screen reduces eye strain in low light.
It contrasts with backlit, where light shines from behind.
