Inhaling heated cocaine
Freebasing is a method of preparing and smoking cocaine by converting it to a purer, more potent form using heat and a solvent.
The resulting "freebase" vaporizes at lower temperatures, delivering an intense, rapid high.
The practice is dangerous—solvents are flammable, and the high is powerfully addictive: He started freebasing and his life fell apart within months.
