mainlining
Direct vein injection
Mainlining is injecting a drug directly into a vein for immediate effect: He'd been mainlining heroin for years.
The term comes from the "main line"—a major vein.
Figuratively, mainlining means consuming something intensely or in large quantities: She spent the weekend mainlining true crime podcasts.
