founts

Origins of streams

Founts is the plural of fount, a source from which something flows abundantly.

A teacher may be a fount of knowledge, a grandmother a fount of wisdom.

The word derives from fountain and carries the same sense of continuous outpouring.

In British typography, fount is also a variant spelling of font—a complete set of type in one size and style.
