foot sweep

Low martial takedown

A foot sweep is a martial arts technique where you use your foot or leg to knock an opponent's feet out from under them, causing them to fall.

Common in judo, wrestling, and mixed martial arts, foot sweeps rely on timing and leverage rather than brute force: He caught his opponent stepping forward and executed a perfect foot sweep.
