firing pin
Primer impact component
A firing pin is the part of a gun that strikes the primer of a cartridge to ignite the propellant and fire the bullet.
When the trigger is pulled, the hammer or striker drives the firing pin forward into the base of the cartridge.
A broken or worn firing pin causes misfires.
