fighting fish
Territorial finned pet
Fighting fish are small, brightly colored freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia, kept as ornamental pets.
Males are aggressively territorial and will attack other males, which led to their use in staged fights—hence the name.
Also called Siamese fighting fish or betta.
