feudal levy
Medieval military obligation
A feudal levy was the military service owed by vassals to their lord under the feudal system—knights and soldiers summoned to fight in exchange for land rights.
The term also refers to the force itself: The king called up his feudal levy to repel the invasion.
By extension, any compulsory mustering of resources or personnel from subordinates.
