fancasting
Fantasy role assignment
Fancasting is imagining which actors would play characters in a hypothetical film or TV adaptation, or proposing alternative casting for existing productions.
Fans engage in fancasting for books, comics, video games, or remakes: My fancasting for the Percy Jackson series has Oscar Isaac as Poseidon.
The practice thrives on social media, where users share elaborate casting wishlists with photo edits.
