bronchus
Windpipe's lower branch
A bronchus is one of the two main airways that branch from the windpipe into the lungs.
These tubes further divide into smaller bronchi and then bronchioles, forming the respiratory tree that delivers air deep into lung tissue.
Plural: bronchi.
The tumor was blocking the left bronchus.
