egocentrism
One-viewpoint thinking
Egocentrism is the tendency to see the world primarily from one's own perspective, often with difficulty imagining how others might think or feel differently.
In developmental psychology, it describes a normal stage in children who assume everyone shares their viewpoint.
In adults, it suggests self-absorption: His egocentrism made him oblivious to how his decisions affected the team.
Distinct from egotism, which implies arrogance—egocentrism is more about limited perspective than inflated self-regard.
