A dweeb is a socially awkward, unfashionable person—someone perceived as boring, studious, or out of touch with what's cool.
The term emerged in 1980s American slang alongside nerd and geek, though dweeb carries more contempt and less suggestion of technical competence: Don't be such a dweeb.
The insult has softened over time but remains mildly derogatory.
