bookworm

Devourer of pages

A bookworm is someone who reads constantly and voraciously, often preferring books to social activities: She's such a bookworm—always has her nose in a novel.

The term comes from larvae that bore through book bindings and pages, though it's now used almost exclusively for devoted readers.

The connotation is gentle teasing rather than criticism.
