Socially clueless person
A dork is a socially awkward or unfashionable person, someone out of step with what's cool: He was such a dork in high school.
The word is mildly insulting but often affectionate—you might call a friend a dork for an embarrassing enthusiasm or clueless moment.
Dork is also slang for penis, though this sense has faded as the social-misfit meaning took over.
