goober
Slang for dope
A goober is a peanut, chiefly in Southern American dialect.
More commonly now, goober means a goofy, silly, or endearingly awkward person: He's such a goober.
The tone is affectionate rather than cutting—you'd call a friend a goober, not an enemy.
Stop being a goober and just ask her out.
