double-tonguing
Brass player's technique
Double-tonguing is a technique wind instrument players use to articulate rapid passages, alternating tongue positions to produce a "tu-ku" or "du-gu" pattern rather than single repeated strokes.
The method allows faster, cleaner note separation than the tongue alone can achieve: She mastered double-tonguing to play the sixteenth-note runs.
