dogcarts

Light horse vehicles

A dogcart is a light, horse-drawn cart with two wheels and back-to-back seats.

The name comes from a box under the rear seat originally designed to carry hunting dogs.

Dogcarts were common in the 19th and early 20th centuries for short trips: They rode to the village in the dogcart.
