disembarkment

Exiting the ship

Disembarkment is the act of leaving a ship, aircraft, or other vehicle upon arrival.

The word is a more formal or bureaucratic variant of disembarkation: Disembarkment procedures delayed passengers for nearly an hour.

Both forms describe the process of getting off a vessel, though disembarkation is more common.
