devourers
Those who gorge
Devourers are those who devour—consuming eagerly, greedily, or destructively.
The word applies literally to voracious eaters: The devourers stripped the carcass clean.
More often it appears figuratively for anything that consumes completely: devourers of time, devourers of resources, devourers of souls.
In fantasy and gaming, devourers are typically monstrous creatures that feed on life force or magical energy.
