horrors

Things beyond awful

Horrors is an exclamation of shock or dismay, typically theatrical or ironic: Horrors! The soufflé has fallen!

It sounds deliberately old-fashioned, often used for comic effect when reacting to minor calamities.

The phrase the horrors can also mean a fit of extreme fear or revulsion, or the distressing symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.
