Clicks off highlight
Deselects is the opposite of selects: to remove something from a set of chosen items or to undo a previous selection.
In computing, you deselect by clicking away from highlighted text or unchecking a box.
I accidentally deselected all the files I meant to copy.
The term appears in contexts ranging from software interfaces to sports, where a player may be deselected from a team roster.
