Cancel visual selection

To unhighlight is to remove highlighting from text or other content, returning it to its default appearance.

The term belongs to software interfaces where users can select and highlight passages: I accidentally highlighted the whole paragraph and had to unhighlight most of it.

The opposite of highlight.
