death match
Fight until elimination
A death match is a fight or competition that continues until one participant is killed or utterly defeated.
The term originated in professional wrestling for matches with no disqualification, then spread to video games describing multiplayer modes where players respawn after being killed and compete for the most kills: We played deathmatch until 3 a.m.
