casual mode
Easy play option
A state of relaxed, low-effort engagement with an activity—gaming, conversation, work—where stakes are minimal and intensity is dialed down.
In video games, casual mode typically reduces difficulty so players can enjoy the experience without frustration: I'm just playing on casual mode tonight.
The phrase extends beyond gaming to any situation where someone deliberately avoids taking things too seriously: Let's keep this meeting in casual mode.
