exhibition match
Showcase game only
An exhibition match is a sports contest played for entertainment or demonstration rather than as part of official competition.
The outcome doesn't affect league standings, rankings, or tournament progression.
Teams or athletes use exhibition matches to prepare for a season, showcase skills to new audiences, raise money for charity, or simply give fans an entertaining spectacle.
The retired champions played an exhibition match to benefit the children's hospital.
