dead pixels
Display's dark spots
Dead pixels are points on a digital display that fail to light up, appearing as tiny black dots against the screen's image.
They result from manufacturing defects or damage to the display's transistors.
A single dead pixel may go unnoticed, but clusters become distracting: I returned the monitor because of dead pixels in the center of the screen.
