dance notation
Written dance language
Dance notation is a system of symbols for recording movement on paper, allowing choreography to be preserved and reproduced.
Various systems exist—Labanotation and Benesh notation are among the most established.
Like musical notation, dance notation captures timing, position, and dynamics, though no single system has achieved universal adoption: The company reconstructed the 1905 ballet from its original dance notation.
